Shoulder stand is considered the "Queen" pose in yoga.It is a moderate inversion bringing prana upwards and releasing stagnant energy from the limbs. It works the stomach and the back. To rise up into the pose, start on your back and lift your legs towards the ceiling. Use your hands to support the lumbar spine and do not move your head in this position. Engage stomach muscles and glutes and lift your body higher. Drag your elbows in closer. For less pressure on the lower back bent at the waist. Enjoy this pose and all its benefits.Mary Jane www.fengshuiyoganj.com
