Have you ever wondered what it might feel like if you decide to eat your meals mindfully? Unfortunately, most of us scoff down a meal being distracted by TV, our computer or cell phone. The problem with eating this way is we lose out on the full experience of tasting and smelling our food.
There is a powerful phrase that says: When you eat, eat. When you drink, drink.
This morning, when you prepare your breakfast, try taking a different approach and actually be in the moment. Feel the surface of your kitchen floor beneath your feet, notice the subtle sounds of your appliances, the texture of handling the ingredients you choose, and the aroma that wafts while cooking your meal. Savor these sensations. Become a part of the entire process and notice the difference. When you take a moment to be present, the energy washes over you like a warm gentle breeze. This is a much better way to start your day, as it sets the tone for everything else that will follow.
